Honours shared in asphalt/gravel awards

The leading two crews in the 2007 Dunlop/Gambia MSA British Historic Rally Championship have shared the special awards presented for the best performances on the asphalt and gravel rallies. While Dessie Nutt and Geraldine McBride (Porsche 911) clinched the Water End Properties Asphalt Cup, David Stokes and Guy Weaver (Ford Escort Mk1) won the Water End Properties Gravel Cup.In addition to all the usual championship awards, Water End Properties backed trophies for the crews setting the pace on either asphalt or gravel. The 2007 schedule included five gravel rallies and three asphalt rallies.Having narrowly beaten Nutt and McBride to the overall MSA crown, Stokes and Weaver came close to completing a clean sweep. They won the gravel award by a handy margin and were just one point behind Nutt/McBride in the asphalt points.Third place in the gravel standings went to Neil Calvert and Arlene Cookson in their Lotus Cortina. Third places in the asphalt award went to Gareth Lloyd (Ford Escort Mk2) in the drivers' standings and Barbara Smith (Porsche 911) in the co-drivers' standings.Water End Properties is a Bedfordshire based developer that specialises in providing high quality office buildings in unusual locations, usually rural areas or at the edge of towns.
