Despite the fact that the Brazilian Grand Prix stewards confirmed Sunday's race results, McLaren Mercedes have notified the FIA that they will appeal the race stewards' decision not to penalise BMW Sauber and Williams.

Such an appeal would leave the results of the drivers' world championship uncertain, as should the ICA overturn the stewards' decision and  disqualify the Williams and BMW Sauber drivers, Lewis Hamilton would have sufficient points to beat Kimi to the world championship title.
