and help raise 50,000
Members of the public will have the rare chance to rub shoulders and wheels with some of the best motorsport drivers at The Autosport International Show 2008.
With the aim of raising over £50,000 for David Brabham’s fundraising organisation racing4charity.com, this truly unique fundraising event on the Motorsport World kart track on Friday 11 January will see drivers from the realms of The World Rally Championship, ALMS, DTM, Touring Cars and British F3 to name a few, take to the wheel.
David Brabham said: “After the success of the event last January we aim to go much bigger this year and raise at least £50,000, which will directly benefit a notable list of charities. We had a terrific response to the race at The Autosport International Show last year and we are hoping this ambitious event will attract even more support. A lot of work is going into the planning of the 2008 event and we’re going at it with all guns blazing, trying to improve the spectacle and raise considerably more money.”
The fun starts at 1.30pm on Friday at the Motorsport World kart track in hall four, where a 30-minute qualifying session will precede the 90-minute race, which starts at 3.15pm.
There will be 20 teams, each with four celebrity drivers and two members of the public. Among the star drivers already confirmed are David Brabham, Andy Priaulx and Susie Stoddart.
The general public can realise their racing dreams and race alongside motorsport stars and celebrities for a fee of £300.00, which includes two exclusive entrance tickets to Autosport International 2008 for Friday 11 January, usually an exclusive trade day.
Charities already set to benefit from what promises to be Racing 4 Charity’s most successful fundraising event yet include: Bliss (The Premature Baby Charity), The Richard Burns Foundation, Whizzkids, NARA (The Breathing Charity), Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, and Christies Hospital Cancer Ward (Manchester).
