Front Row for de Ferran at Long Beach

The no.66 XM Radio de Ferran Motorsports Acura ARX02 will line up on the front row of the grid for today's Tequila Patron American Le Mans Series at Long Beach. – the third round of the American Le Mans Series held at the famous Southern California street race venue.

“Starting from second on the gird means it’s all going to depend on the start,” said young French hot shot, Simon  Pagenaud.  “Looking at the first corner obviously we do not want to collide with anyone.  Being a street course, it is very difficult to pass – particularly a similar car.  I will have to stay aware of any opportunity.  My goal is to bring it back in first position to make it easy when I hand the car over to Gil."

Gil de Ferran,  team principal and race car driver was happy with today’s result.  “Frankly I’m quite pleased with the way qualifying went.  We made a choice on the set-up of the car and tires that we knew would be tough for qualifying but would hopefully help us for the race tomorrow.  The fact that we were only a few hundredths of a second away from pole is a good thing.  Obviously, it would have been nice to be on the pole again, but we came up a little short.  We’re looking forward to a good race.”
