TO JOIN TCR AT THRUXTON
Total Control Racing is delighted to announce its expansion to three cars for the upcoming fourth, fifth and sixth rounds of the Michelin Ginetta G50 Cup at Thruxton next weekend, 25th/26th April, after agreeing a deal with Danish driver Joachim Ritter.
Lee Brookes’ Wednesbury-based team, which enjoyed a stunning start to its maiden season in the G50 Cup with a brace of race wins for Carl Breeze during the championship curtain-raiser at Brands Hatch a fortnight ago, welcomes 37-year-old Ritter into its ranks for the Thruxton rounds only at this stage. However, the team hopes the agreement will be extended for the remainder of the campaign.
“We’re obviously very happy indeed to have Joachim join us for Thruxton”, said Brookes, “Things couldn’t have started much better for the team at Brands Hatch with two fantastic wins for Carl (Breeze) and some very good drives by Fulvio (Mussi).
“To have already expanded our G50 team to three cars for next weekend is great news for everyone at TCR. If all goes well, we’re hopeful we can agree a deal with Joachim for him to remain with us for the rest of the season.”
Ritter, who is currently 13th overall in the Ginetta G50 Cup driver standings, made the transition to car racing in 2007 after six years in the realms of competitive motorcycling. In 2008, he contested the Kumho BMW Championship, finishing third in class.
