Dunlop/Gambia MSA British Historic Rally Championship - Round 2; Pirelli Historic Rally, 17/18 April
Darren Moon and Chris Parsons emerged victorious on the Pirelli Historic Rally in Kielder, the second round of the Dunlop/Gambia MSA British Historic Rally Championship. Moon and Parsons guided their Ford Escort Mk2 to a repeat of Moon's 2008 victory after six fast gravel stages.
In category one, the Sunbeam Tiger of Jonathan and Graham Gale was another casualty of the very loose opening stage and slid into a ditch. Instead, victory went to the Porsche 911 of Dessie Nutt/Geraldine McBride.
It was another Porsche to the fore in category two as the later 911 of Tim Mason and Graham Wild took the win after a nicely measured performance.
