JD Motorsport set the fastest times in today's morning and afternoon session for the International Formula Master (IFM) final pre-season test day, at the Hungaroring, Hungary, with Sergey Afanasiev and Josef Kral posting the top times in each respective session. Afanasiev's best lap saw the young Russian place the morning's fastest time in 1:37.138, ahead of Jenzer Motorsport's Pål Varhaug (1:37.362) and JD Motorsport team-mate Kral (1:37.425). Times once again decreased as the day went on with Kral taking the top spot for the afternoon, completing his lap in 1:37.119. Afanasiev matched him closely once again with a fastest time of 1:37.332 whilst Iris Project's Patrick Reiterer produced the third quickest lap of the afternoon, 1:37.874. Varhaug claimed the top rookie time of the day, with his morning lap, ahead of Hitech Junior's Alexander Rossi, whose best time of 1:37.551 placed him fourth fastest overall. Paul Meijer completed his first full day in a Formula Master car, setting a fastest lap of 1:38.191 with AR Motorsport, whilst Tim Sandler returned to the Series for the first time since last season's final races in Monza. The ISR driver posted a best lap of 1:39.875 during his short afternoon run.  The 2009 IFM racing season gets underway next month on the street circuit of Pau in France, on 16 and 17 May.  Formula Master - Hungaroring official testing Day Two: morning 1.
