British driver Sam Bird (Mücke Motorsport, 1:17.492 minuten) was the fastest driver of all in free practice of the Formula 3 Euro Series. With Alexander Sims (Mücke Motorsport, 1:17.596 minutes) in second place and Christian Vietoris (Mücke Motorsport, 1:17.745 minutes) in fourth place, three Mücke drivers made it into the top four. Third-placed Jean Karl Vernay (Signature, 1:17.680 minutes) was the only non-Mücke driver to rank among the first four places.

Afterwards, Bird was happy: “It is the first time for me at the EuroSpeedway and of course, I am happy with my fastest time. My car ran great, I think it is one of the fastest in the field.”
