Rally of Scotland offers fans something extra

Organisers of the inaugural RACMSA Rally of Scotland – the final round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) - have broken the rally hospitality mould by coming up with a range of packages tailored especially for fans, families and businesses alike. Think beautiful historic palaces, ancient castles and stunning views combined with all the action of one of the UK’s largest motorsport events.

Starting on Thursday 19th November, guests can enjoy the exclusive surroundings of Scone Palace, the former coronation site of Scotland’s kings and queens, for the Ceremonial Start and Special Stages One and Two. The first of the competitive stages sees drivers rallying past the entrance to the palace and on through the grounds. Here guests get exclusive access to the palace for a welcome drinks reception, tour of the state apartments and a buffet dinner before getting to watch all the action from a reserved grandstand in front of the palace.

The second day of the Rally of Scotland offers up another taste of historic Scotland and the perfect opportunity to watch the event in the unique setting of 13th century Blair Castle. Guests will get to see the rally cars visit the castle twice for service – when the cars get repaired and refuelled. The service park is always the hub of rally action and will be made even more exciting by its unique and spectacular surroundings. Guests will be situated in the grand hall for breakfast and lunch, with live TV screens and shuttle transfers to selected stages.

David Marshall Lodge, overlooking Loch Ard forest, is the setting for hospitality for the event's final day. It takes place against the stunning backdrop of Queen Elizabeth Forest Park allowing fans to catch a glimpse of the cars coming through the Achray stage from the balcony. As part of the package guests can choose to visit any of the day’s three stages to create their own viewing experience or they can choose to stay in the comfort of the lodge. Due to the nature of the setting, this package is the ideal base for families – with child prices starting at just £35 – including breakfast, lunch and access to all Saturday’s stages.

Andrew Coe, chief executive of event organiser International Motor Sports Ltd., (IMS) said: “We wanted to make sure our hospitality packages offered something for everyone who wants to make their visit to Rally of Scotland really stand out and those looking for a different location for a celebration. Whether that’s corporate bodies, families, or groups of friends, we feel there is something for all who want to enjoy the buzz of rally action - roll on November.”

The Rally of Scotland is the final round of the International Rally Challenge and is being held from 19-21 November 2009.
