A Swiss driver for the Matech GT Racing team at the Hungaroring
Jonathan Hirschi, a talented young Swiss driver, will join the Matech GT Racing team for the fifth round of the FIA GT Championship in Budapest this week-end. At the Hungaroring, he will share the cockpit of the Matech Ford GT1 with experienced driver Thomas Mutsch."I’m very pleased to have Jonathan on board” – emphasized Martin Bartek, Team Principal and Owner. "I’m thrilled to have been given the chance to race in the FIA GT at the wheel of the Ford GT1, which is built according to the 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship specifications.”Jonathan Hirschi started his career with karting in 2003 before turning to Formula Renault 2.0 in 2005, finishing 6th the very first season and winning the national title in 2006. The following year he competed in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and in the German F3. In 2008, Jonathan finished 6th of the Megane Trophy and is leading the series in 2009 with 4 wins so far.
