POOLE boss Neil Middleditch hailed reserve guest Andrew Silver as a hero in their first away win of the season to ease relegation fears.Silver won the second race in the Pirates' 48-41 win at rivals Eastbourne on his first visit to Arlington for 15 years.Said Middleditch: "Everyone in the pits thought it was just fantastic for him and he said he was just delighted to get that ride."

WORKINGTON boss Ian Thomas has praised his injury-hit side after seeing them gain a draw at Sheffield on Thursday.The 46-46 draw was one of the best results of the season for the Cumbrianside who were without Phil Morris and Richard Lawson.Thomas said: "Under the circumstances it was a remarkable effort. We are the first team to take a point at Sheffield this season, which in itself was terrific."
