Season finale has new sponsor

Yas Marina Circuit, which will host the first Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November, has secured a new sponsor for the next three years.

The National Bank of Abu Dhabi will back the race, the Formula One end of season finale, as its official bank as well as through its sponsorship of the multi-million dollar circuit. Etihad is the title sponsor of the race itself.

"Sponsoring Yas Marina Circuit activities for three years and securing the title of Official Bank of the 2009 Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is a tremendous honor for NBAD. We believe this will further strengthen NBAD's association with world class events and enable the bank to increase its reach to global audience," said Abdulla Mohammed Saleh Abdul Raheem, NBAD's group chief operating officer. "NBAD is part of the DNA of Abu Dhabi; this move confirms our commitment to serving and building Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE nation by supporting milestone events and financing projects in different economic sectors to achieve Abu Dhabi Vision 2030."

Richard Cregan, chief executive of Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management, said: "We are delighted to announce the National Bank of Abu Dhabi as an Official Partner of Yas Marina Circuit for the next three years and look forward to a mutually beneficial collaboration. This partnership is another example of the commitment by key organisations in Abu Dhabi to support major initiatives like Yas Marina Circuit in the capital.

"Formula One race weekends are watched by more than 600 million viewers globally, which enables our partners to broaden their reach and visibility both locally and internationally. We are confident that this sponsorship platform can provide the National Bank of Abu Dhabi with an opportunity to leverage significant marketing and business opportunities."
