(SPEEDWAY 1) WORKINGTON youngster Richard Lawson is out for the rest of the season after being booked for a shoulder operation later this month.Lawson is the third Comets rider to be on the sidelines, but they still comfortably overcame Berwick in Friday's Premier League match at Derwent Park.Manager Ian Thomas said: "I think Richard can look back on a very successful first season at this level. He's done exceptionally well."

STOKE have brought forward the start-time for Sunday's Premier League clash with Edinburgh to 4pm.The Loomer Road stadium has suffered a major electrical fault so promoter Dave Tattum needs to run the meeting in daylight.Tattum said: "We have hired a generator in order to run the meeting. Edinburgh have been very helpful and I'd like to thank them for their assistance." (FIXTURES)
