Chittenden gets Porsche Carrera Cup GB opportunity

Karting ace Tiffany Chittenden will make her debut in the 2009 Porsche Carrera Cup GB in the next two races at Rockingham (19/20 September), after being invited to race the VIP car from Porsche Motorsport.The 28-year old from Kent is one of Britain's most accomplished kart racers, having started racing at the age of 12. She currently races in the European Championship, but is keen to make the switch to cars having raced a variety of single-seaters and sports cars over the last four seasons.Chittenden is working on backing for a full season in the Carrera Cup in 2010 and says the chance to race the VIP car at Rockingham is a massive opportunity. "The Carrera Cup is what I want to do next year and we're working on raising the budget."Racing cars has always been the dream and I'm really grateful to Porsche for such an opportunity. I want to do well, but I've got to be realistic," she said. "I know it's going to be a steep learning curve and I've got so much top learn in three days." She also has to learn the Rockingham circuit, where she has not yet raced.
