Fourth on Silverstone Grid for Team Modena

The Team Modena Ferrari F430 GT lines up fourth on the LM GT2 category grid for today’s 1000km race at Silverstone – the final race n the 2009 Le Mans Series season. Jaime Melo was in the car for qualifying, and did two flying laps, recording times just thousandths of a second apart on each, the Brazilian declaring himself happy with the set-up of the car prior to the race.

“We qualify the car on medium compound tyres,” said Jaime, “with most of the other teams on soft tyres, so we knew there would be a difference and I just tried my best,. In the race we will be very competitive, the car is good and I think our strategy with the tyres will be good.

“The feel of the car was good, which is important, and even in two laps I can say we have a good car for the race.”

Jaime will be sharing the car today with team regulars Antonio Garcia and Leo Mansell, with a 15-minute warm-up session at 09.00 and the race itself at 11.35.
