Camier sets scintillating pole

Leon Camier set a blistering pace in the Swan Combi 50 - Roll for Pole qualifying session at Croft, to secure his eighth pole position of the season for the Airwaves Yamaha, despite Stuart Easton setting the fastest time in the second session for the Hydrex Honda.

Camier had been dominant throughout the weekend, but in Q2 it was Easton who put in the fastest lap in the final minute to nudge the Airwaves Yamaha to second for this first time this weekend. However, when it counted Camier was back on top, setting a time that put him ahead of MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Simon Andrews for the pole position.

Camier said: "It is awesome to be on pole position again here at Croft, but that was one session where you had to be really committed as the track was quite hot so the bike was sliding around a bit. There were a couple of times that I scared myself out there a bit, but what we did was good enough. I think we still need to make some setting changes tomorrow but we can do that during warm up. I need to get a good start here, but the track usually produces some close racing so I don't think anyone will get away and it will be a good race."
