The second half of the championship season began in the glorious Cumbrian countryside in warm and sunny weather. Contenders who had travelled far made their journey worthwhile with valuable points at the end of the day. Robin Bricknell from Cornwall and John Fack from Bath tied for first place on 44 marks, with Roger winning the tie decider to take maximum championship points for the first time this season. Ian Wright from Kent was third on 45 marks, ahead of local man Dave Martin who was fourth on 47 and Cornwall’s Roland Uglow on 48.
