GT Open at Magny-Cours

Porsche And Ferrari Resume Their Duel In Magny-Cours• Autorlando and IMSA To Defend Porsche’s Leadership In The Series• Trottet And Advanced Eng. To Lead Ferrari Attack• Six Makes Represented In GTS• Strong French Presence With IMSA, JMB, Ruffier And Lagniez Teams

The International GT Open is heading to Magny-Cours, for its fifth round of the 2009season and one of its most traditional events next week-end (19-20 September), with a25-strong entry list, which has been released today by GT Sport.

In the Super GT category, the Porsche delegation (which currently has three teams inthe top five of the overall standings) will be led, as usual, by the two Autorlando 997RSR of Lietz-Roda and Gião-Couceiro (with current co-leader Richard Lietz freshlycrownedas LMS GT2 Champion) and the three cars of French IMSA Performance Matmut,with Pilet-Narac in the role of local heroes. Ferrari representation includes six F430: theones to be watched more closely are the Trottet car of Swiss duo Fässler-Camathias(currently second in the standings), the Advanced Engineering of Rugolo-Ricci (also arace-winner this year) and the Megadrive of Cioci-Perazzini. Complete the field in SuperGT the two Sun-Reds SR21; Frenchman touring car driver Eric Cayrolle will make hisdebut in the series on one of the Spanish machines.

Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Corvette, Viper and Mosler are the makesrepresented in GTS, currently dominated by the Kessel Ferrari of Peter-Broniszewski andwhere French colors will be well defended by the two Lamborghinis Gallardo for theRuffier Racing, the Ferrari F430 GT3 of JMB Racing (with Mallegol-Bachelier) and theCorvette of Jean-Claude Lagniez. Also to be noted, the come-back of the Vipers of FRMotorsport and Gianni Giudici and the possible debut of a Rollcentre Mosler.

Fans in Magny-Cours will also enjoy the excitement of Formula 3, thanks to the Euro F.3Open, and other series such as the Formula Le Mans, the Formula Academy Euro Seriesand the Caterham Cup. The Magny-Cours GT Open will be broadcasted life in Italy(Nuvolari), Spain (Canal +) nd Portugal (Sport TV), with ample coverage throughoutEurope thanks to Eurosport (in Motorsports Weekend and on Eurosport 2 on Monday 21stSeptember at 18:45 CET) and Motors TV on Saturday 26th September.
