Team Rosberg in dash to the flag in FIA GT3 Championship

A tremendously exciting dash for the flag awaits Team Rosberg in the FIA GT3 Championship: At Le Castellet between 2 and 4 October the outfit of team boss Arno Zensen has the chance, as closest rival, to score more points in the battle among the leading teams. No fewer than 49 drivers have scored points in the first four events which is why the championship standings are so close. As direct competitors of Team Rosberg, Christopher Mies and Christopher Haase lead the FIA GT3 European Championship with 40 points – however, on the remaining two race weekends another 40 points are up for grabs. Nicolas Armindo and César Campaniço, who share the number 32 Rosberg Audi R8 LMS, lie second in the standings in a promising position. With 29 points to their credit they are equal on points with two other opponents and, in spite of a poor result at Portimão recently, are only eleven points behind the leader. "Anything is possible in the two remaining races which take place within three weeks in October,” says Arno Zensen who is looking forward to the final spurt. "There will certainly be a few surprises at Le Castellet on 4 October and Zolder on 25 October. We won’t give up beforehand either.” The 27-year old Nicolas Armindo and his 29-year old team mate César Campaniço only brought four points with them from Portugal. Minor technical problems in connection with the electric system had far-reaching consequences and deprived the team of any reward for its work. "Other people can, however, also be struck by such bad luck,” knows Arno Zensen from three decades of motorsport experience. "We’ll thoroughly check the entire car and all the technical systems and also test again before the race.” Jiří Navrátil and Paulo Bonifacio share the second Team Rosberg Audi R8 LMS. The Czech Navrátil is a regular in the number 33 sportscar cockpit since the start of the season, while his Brazilian team mate makes his first appearance in the FIA GT3 European Championship for Rosberg. He previously started for another team in the same series. Bonifacio made his debut for Team Rosberg recently at the Sachsenring.A 5.842 kilometre long high-speed track in Le Castellet close to Toulon in Southern France awaits the teams. Aerodynamics, but also durability of the brakes, number among the qualities in demand on this track.

 The schedule at Le CastelletFriday, 2 October: 10:50–11:50 free practice 1; 16:00–17:00 free practice 2; Saturday, 3 October: 12:00–12:50 qualifying; 17:30–18:30 race 1, Sunday, 4 October: 16:45–17:45 race 2.
