Meadows signs with Red Line for Porsche Carrera Cup
Michael Meadows, one of the two 2010 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholarship winners, has signed to race for Red Line Racing next season. Meadows will be a key member of a four or five-car squad from the Cleveland-based team."We always aimed for a place with Red Line Racing when we started in the Scholarship," said Meadows. "Red Line was the team that appealed the most; they have got so much experience with these cars and it will be a great place for me to learn. I've already had a test with them and felt really welcome within the team. I want to have a good testing campaign and go to some of the tracks I've not driven for a couple of years."Meadows (21) was one of the two drivers to win a £50,000 Scholarship award for the 2010 Carrera Cup GB. The Banbury-based racer has already started a training programme with the Porsche Human Performance Centre at Silverstone ahead of a testing programme before the opening races of the season in early April.Red Line is one of standard setting teams in the Carrera Cup GB, having won the overall drivers' title with Richard Westbrook (2004), James Sutton (2007) and Tim Harvey (2008), as well as the teams' championship three times."We're really excited about signing Michael," said Red Line boss, Simon Leonard. "He's very disciplined and a quick learner; he's got massive potential and is going to be a great asset for the team. We're really looking forward to running him in 2010."
