KURT Shields has been granted a work permit and will join Rye House for the2010 Premier League season.Shields is the cousin of Lakeside star Adam Shields who will help him by preparing a bike for the start of the season.Rockets chief Len Silver said: "This is a great start to the new year for Rye House. I have set him a target of having an impact like that made by his friend and neighbour Richard Sweetman at Birmingham."

COVENTRY star Eddie Kennett has backed the inclusion of his Bees colleagueChris Harris in the 2010 Grand Prix.Kennett was strongly linked with one of the nominations but Brandon skipper Harris got the nod.He said: "It's probably a good move because Chris is British champion and the best British rider at the minute. My time will come, I'm sure. I will just carry on the way I am, keep changing a few little bits and continue working hard abroad."
