Auto GP welcomes Ombra Racing

Ombra Racing is the latest addition to the entry list for the Auto GP maiden season. So, after the French team DAMS and the Brits of SuperNova, the series organized by Coloni Motorsport hails the arrival of an Italian outfit, a young team which has everything it’s needed to fight with the “big boys”. Born in 2002, Ombra Racing was an outright winner, clinching two titles in a row in the Italian F.Junior and then graduating to F.3.

In the Italian F.3 Championship, the team won its first race in the debut year and took the championship in 2004, its second year in the series. This victories gained Ombra a lot of respect, something that in the following years led to important partnerships with some of the best teams in motorsport, like Carlin Motorsport for A1 GP and Threebond for the 2005 Macau Grand Prix. From 2006 on, the team raced in the German F.3 championship, the ATS F3 Cup, clinching really good results. Thanks to this, the palmarés of Ombra Racing is pretty impressive for such a young team: 20 wins, 32 podiums and 13 pole positions.
