Pierce and Hazell confirm Carrera Cup plans with JHR

Derek Pierce and Mark Hazell have committed to JHR for the 2010 Porsche Carrera Cup GB season as the team builds towards running either three or four cars in the championship. The JHR squad joined the Carrera Cup for the 2009 season and is now preparing for an expanded programme in 2010. Pierce will remain in the pro-am1 category, while Hazell will return to the Carrera Cup to contest the pro-am2 category."The ideal team for us is three cars but we may expand to run four cars," said team manager Paul Leach. "We're delighted to confirm that Derek and Mark will be with us and we are now talking to other drivers about the coming season."Pierce made his Carrera Cup debut last year and was a pro-am1 podium finisher during a strong learning season. "We were very pleased with Derek's progress in 2009 and he'll certainly be a leading contender in pro-am1 this year," said Leach.Hazell, meanwhile, returns to the Carrera Cup having last raced in the championship in 2006. He has raced with JHR in a Renault Clio for the last two seasons and is now relishing a return to a Porsche. "I think pro-am2 will suit Mark very well and we expect him to challenge for the title," said Leach.
