Ginetta G40 Championship team Hillspeed has today released details of a unique ‘awards’ scheme in conjunction with its Formula Renault BARC squad.
The Hathersage team, which has already confirmed 14-year-old Seb Morris as its first Ginetta G40 signing of 2010, is currently seeking another driver to join the Liberty Properties-backed youngster ahead of its maiden campaign in the burgeoning category.
As part of the awards scheme, when a Hillspeed driver finishes on the podium during any given race weekend throughout the year, he/she will be offered the ‘reward’ of a test in one of the team’s Formula Renault BARC cars.
This isn’t a one-off chance either – each weekend a Hillspeed driver finishes on the Ginetta G40 podium they will receive a ‘prize’ Formula Renault BARC test day. Therefore, it’s possible for a driver to win 10 test days in one of the team’s front-running single-seaters!
In addition to this, should one of the drivers conclude the squad’s debut season inside the top three of the Ginetta G40 Championship standings, he/she will earn the chance to take-up the team’s offer of an entry into the BARC Class of the 2010 Formula Renault Winter Championship.
If the successful driver is younger than the permitted age to compete in Formula Renault BARC, a suitable alternative will be offered by Hillspeed.
Outlining the team’s unique prize structure, Richard Ollerenshaw said: “We’re very much looking forward to our first season in Ginetta G40 and we see our newly confirmed awards structure as a great way of providing our 2010 drivers with an opportunity to sample a single-seater and consider possible options for future years.
“We also hope it will prove attractive to any drivers still considering whether to race in Ginetta G40 this year – either young karters, like Seb, stepping up to cars for the first time or racers who have experience of Ginetta Junior. We’re confident we’ll hit the ground running and be competitive in our first season and these prizes are a great potential reward for drivers who join us.”
