(SPEEDWAY 1) PETERBOROUGH will stage the Premier League Fours Championship for the 25th time this summer. The event, which is part of the sport's Super 7even series, has a rich tradition at the East of England Showground and will take place on Sunday, August 15. Co-owner Rick Frost said: "Since I took over the Panthers in August, 2008, fans have been asking whether the Fours would ever be back at the track. "It clearly has tremendous history at the Showground and we will do everything we can to make sure our 25th hosting of the championship will be one everyone will remember." (SPEEDWAY 2) SOMERSET have added Elite League stars Kenneth Bjerre and Niels Kristian Iversen to their 10th anniversary celebration meeting. The Peterborough duo join Hans Andersen and Mark Lemon as confirmed starters for the March 19 showpiece which is sure to attract a bumper crowd. Rebels co-promoter Debbie Hancock said: "We are delighted with the way the line-up is coming together, it should be a night to remember for us all here at Somerset."

LAKESIDE chief Jon Cook is backing Jerran Hart to do well in the British Under 21 Final at Purfleet in April.It's the third successive year the prestigious event is to be staged at the Arena-Essex track.Said Cook: "We are very excited about being allocated this meeting."Hopefully Jerran can lay down a challenge to reach the rostrum. These meetings in the past have provided some excellent entertainment and a very high level of competition and we are looking forward to staging it."

EASTBOURNE co-promoter Mike Bellerby is backing the new-look Eagles for a successful 2010 campaign.The Arlington outfit ended weeks of speculation over their future when they declared their inention to run at the sport's AGM - and they've signed the spectacular Matej Zagar.Said Bellerby: "Although our chances have again already been written off in certain quarters, Bob (Dugard), Trevor (Geer) and I remain firm in our belief that the Eagles are in for a good year".

JAMES McBain has been handed a team spot with National League Buxton for the 2010 season.The Scottish youngster rode in their final home meeting of last season against Plymouth and impressed club bosses enough for this year.Hitmen promoter Jayne Moss said: "James is very keen to ride at Buxton and we have given him a team spot after he stepped in last year against Plymouth scoring five points."He has some good equipment and the full backing of his parents and I'm sure he will grab the opportunity with both hands."
