Clark wins BARC top award

Kieren Clark was delighted to be presented with the BARC President’s trophy for 2009 at the recent British Automobile Racing Club awards ceremony. This prestigious honour is awarded for excellence during the 2009 season, and Kieren’s winning streak in the BARC Formula Renault championship of 8 wins saw him chosen by the BARC President, the Earl of March, above the other evenings championship winners, including F3, Touring car and F1 champions. High Praise indeed!

“It has been a great night, I was honoured to win the Presidents cup ahead of some of the UK’s top motorsport drivers.” Said Kieren, “I would like to thank the Loughborough Scorpio team for their efforts and support throughout the season to get such a consistent winning car. Its been a tough year, but we have had some great support from our partners and would like to thank Taylex, the exhibition stand providers, Motor Insurance Services, for on track insurance, and Motorsport Circuit Guides, the place to find information on the worlds motorsport events.“

The award topped off a successful month with Kieren awarded another accolade of being nominated as number 1 single seater driver by the leading national racing publication, Motorsport News.

At the start of year, Kieren took part in David Brabham’s Racing4Charity Celebrity Karting Challenge, hosted at the Autosports Show, held at the NEC Birmingham, which saw 100 of the world’s motorsport elite join together to raise an astonishing sum of £59,500. Kieren’s team came home 4th, only narrowly missing out on a podium place. “It was great fun,” commented Kieren, “each team had 2 members of the public racing with them, and we had a couple of great guys who really enjoyed themselves. We only just missed out on 3rd place, but we’ll be back next year!”

Kieren is now working to bring a group of partners together for the 2010 season. “I know we can be really competitive in the Formula Renault UK support race for the British Touring Cars, and with live TV coverage, offer a great partnership to boost our partners’ profile. There are many things we can offer and we can tailor them around company’s requirements to deliver their objectives, it’s a lot more than the name on the car!”
