Following a season spent in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, 2010 is set to present a great challenge for Naspetti. The decision to move to a prestigious series where, along with Mercedes-Benz AMG, the greatest car manufacturers are all represented (Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Jaguar and Maserati), will see him pitched against professional drivers such as Pierluigi Martini and Gianni Morbidelli; both sharing considerable experience such as Formula 1 Grand Prix racing.
"I am pleased to announce this big news for 2010," said Naspetti. "SUPERSTARS is a great championship and the program we have planned, although completely new, difficult and ambitious, allows me to look to the future with great confidence. The staff at Rangoni Motorsport assures unique competence, passion and professionalism. Both my team-mate Luca Rangoni and I will be involved in the development of the car, which will hit the track for the first time early next month. I am also delighted to further strengthen my link with Mercedes-Benz, as I am an official dealer of the brand already."
Naspetti's first race is set for the 28 March, when the 2010 SUPERSTARS season will officially begin in Monza. The championship is set to end on 28 November in South Africa at the Kyalami circuit. The calendar comprises twenty races, which will take place on the most prestigious circuits of the world and will have LIVE TV coverage from Italian channel "La 7".
