MSA British Junior Kart Championship
Rounds 1 & 2: Shenington - 13th/14th March Current MSA Junior Kart Vice-Champion Jake Dennis resisted fierce competition from Jake Dalton to triumph in the 2010 championship-opener at Shenington. Dennis took first blood with the quickest time in qualifying but won only the third heat, with Dalton victorious in the first two to secure pole position for the first points-paying final.Once underway the race became a tense battle between the pair as it pulled clear of the chasing pack. Dennis tracked Dalton for much of the running before slicing through at the Park corner, only to be re-passed by the end of the lap. With just over one tour remaining Dennis flung his machine up the inside at the first hairpin and defended to the flag. “I really pushed hard to stay with Jake and then the tyres came on I got him,” said the Racing Steps Foundation-backed youngster. The second final was a near repeat of the first; Dalton and Dennis exchanged the lead several times before the latter was able to gain and maintain an advantage. “He [Dennis] did a good job again,” said Dalton. “I caught him after the start when I had a good tow, then once he got past at the end he just had a great defence.”Results - Final 1 Results - Final 2 1 Jake Dennis 1 Jake Dennis2 Jake Dalton 2 Jake Dalton3 Sennan Fielding 3 Senna Fielding4 Ban Barnicoat 4 Jacob Stilp5 Jacob Stilp 5 Xavier Warburton6 Matthew Graham 6 Matthew GrahamRounds 3 & 4: Larkhall - 24th/25th April
