Juncos begins 2010 season with trio of talent

Juncos Racing will take on this week's season-opener at Sebring International Raceway with a roster of three young talented drivers-Tatiana Calderon, 17, Conor Daly, 18, and Hayden Duerson, 18-to add to its talented crew.  After winning four races and finishing second overall in the Championship in its premiere season last year with driver Peter Dempsey, Juncos Racing is determined to keep its winning momentum going in 2010 with its new trio of talent.

Tatiana Calderon of Colombia first became acquainted with Juncos Racing when she raced on its go-karting team in 2005 and 2006.  Now after making her mark in the karting world with several different karting titles, including being the first female driver in racing history to win the JICA Eastern Division title in the 2008 Snap-on Stars of Karting Divisional Championship, Calderon will return to Juncos Racing as a rookie once again to take on her next racing challenge-racing a Pro Formula Mazda.

Conor Daly will return to the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear this season with an impressive resume to his name.  For the past two years, Daly competed as a MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development driver, winning the Skip Barber National Championship in 2008 and finishing third overall with 416 points in his debut season in the Star Mazda Championship in 2009.  With one season of experience now under his belt, Daly is ready to chase the 2010 Star Mazda Championship title with Juncos Racing.

Hayden Duerson joined the Juncos Racing team just last week with plans to compete in the first two events of the 2010 Star Mazda Championship season.  A Florida native, Duerson has competed in many regional karting and racing events over the years and even finished second in his first Skip Barber National race at the Sebring International Raceway in 2008.  From 2005-2007, Duerson raced for the Italian Motors Karting team under the direction of Michael Valiente.  A seasoned Floridian competitor, Duerson is ready to take the next step in his career with Juncos Racing at the Sebring and St. Petersburg events this week and next week.

Though young in years, the trio of teammates certainly do not lack experience in their sport, and Juncos Racing looks forward to competing in the 2010 season with such strong drivers representing the team.  Round one of the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear takes place at the Sebring International Raceway this Friday, March 19, at 12:45pm EST followed by next week's race at the Streets of St. Petersburg.
