Four months after taking part in Africa Eco Race, Elisabete Jacinto is already preparing her return to African tracks, where she will enter the inaugural Cross-country World Cup race for the 2010 season. The Team Oleoban/MAN Portugal driver has already signed for Rallye Oilibya Tunisie 2010, where she will drive her MAN TGS.
The contest, organized by NPO, will have technical and administrative checks in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, on the first day of May, there following six days racing, with six streaks on line and two as “boucle”. The rally will have its finishing line at Tozeur on the 7th.
“I’m happy to be able to go back to Tunisia. It is a country which welcomes a rally with excellent tracks, and it was with this race that I made my African début, back in 1997. Last year, the building of the new truck made it impossible for us to take part, therefore I’m already nostalgic”, refers Elisabete Jacinto, who adds:
“With the recent changes in our MAN TGS, I’m sure we will be able to evolve significantly in the sports field, and fight for victory. According to the most recent information given by the organization of the event, the course is not only very varied, and it will be a very demanding race from the point of view of both driving and navigating, which is an excellent challenge”.
It is worth stressing that Elisabete has been thrice runner-up among trucks, in 2004, 2007 and 2008
