Hankook MSA Scottish Rally ChampionshipRound 2: Brick & Steel Border Counties Rally - 20th March Shaun Sinclair claimed a maximum Hankook MSA Scottish Rally Championship points haul for the first time with second place on Saturday’s Brick & Steel Border Counties Rally, which was won by MSA Team UK driver Dave Weston Jnr."What a turnaround from [round one], the Snowman [Rally], where I just couldn't get anything to work properly,” Sinclair said. “The car has gone really well today and the conditions suited me. Our championship is now underway and we need to keep the consistency going."Reigning champion David Bogie – who, along with Weston Jnr, used the event as a test run ahead of this weekend’s Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship season-opener – claimed the final spot of the podium, more than half-a-minute behind Sinclair.Just a few seconds shy of Bogie was Wayne Sission, who got his championship campaign back on track after a DNF on round one. Meanwhile 21-year-old Alick Kerr – who was runner-up in Inverness – again displayed fine form to finish fourth among the SRC-points scorers in his Subaru Impreza.It was a rally to forget for Snowman-winner Jock Armstrong, who was just three miles into SS1 when the gearbox of his Subaru Impreza failed. Similarly Mike Faulkner pulled out on the penultimate test with a broken differential. As a result, Kerr now leads the overall drivers' standings by four points from Andy Horne.
