AFL Star and TV Personality Sam Newman will join in on the action as the Hertz MINI Challenge – delivered by Pizza Capers UberStar driver for round 2 of the series at the Australian Grand Prix this weekend.

This will be Newman’s second run in the John Cooper Works R56 MINI and The Footyshow host is delighted at the opportunity to jump behind the wheel once again at the Albert Park circuit.

The Football Hall-of-Famer and Geelong-great surprised fans last season with some exciting driving to finish race 3 in 11th position out of 19 starters. This year, with MINI Challenge experience under his belt, Newman will be looking to improve on last year’s performance.

Hertz MINI Challenge – delivered by Pizza Capers Round 2 begins this Thursday with a practice session at 13.30 followed by Qualifying at 18.05. Race 1 is a six-lap dash around the Albert Park circuit on Friday (14.35) while races 2 and 3 consist of eight laps each on Saturday (12.50) and Sunday (13.05) respectively.
