APRIL 11th – WHEN YORKSHIRE MOTORSPORT IS ON THE UP & UP AGAIN!
It’s been a long, cold winter, but now the spring flowers are appearing it’s time to look forward to the first event of 2010 at Harewood Speed Hillclimb – The Spring National event on Sunday, April 11th.
Overlooking the lovely Wharfe Valley between Leeds & Harrogate, the Hillclimb course boasts the longest permanent track in the country.
A fascinating variety of sporting vehicles will be taking part in this year’s inaugural event such as Lotus, Porsche, TVR, MG and Austin Healey, plus everything from hot hatchbacks to specially designed single seater, Formula1-style racing cars – all competing against the clock for the honour of being fastest up the hill, with a dramatic “top 10 shoot-out” to round the event off.
Top competitors will be accelerating up to 120mph on sections of the narrow, twisting tarmac course and spectators will be able to get close to all the action, as well as being able to look round the cars in the paddock and chat to the drivers.
There’s on-site catering and refreshments, perfect spots for picnics and an informative commentary relayed around the course to keep everyone up to speed on times being set or records being broken.
For a great family day out, in great surroundings, with exciting performances from some extremely skilled competitors, Harewood Speed Hillclimb takes some beating.
Best of all, entrance for spectators is just £10 each.
