Pembrey Test Useful To Fine-Tune Cruze For Wet Conditions

Menu Now Off For A Special Week-End, As He’ll Coach His Son Maxime In First Test For TheADAC Cruze Cup In Oschersleben

Regardless of the 5000 km of testing completed during the winter andthe excellent start of the WTCC season in Curitiba, the development program of the Cruze continues relentlessly. The Chevrolet team spent two days testing in Pembrey on Wednesday and Thursday, with Alain Menu at the wheel of the Cruze.

The Swiss driver completed the two-day session without any major trouble, but weather conditionsmodified the initial work program, as the rain invited itself to the track near Bristol for almost the entire two days.

Alain Menu: “We only had a couple of hours of dry track, but it was a very useful test anyway, as werevisited some of the set-ups for wet conditions and worked on things like the differential and thebars. We started the sessions with the set-up used by Rob and Yvan in race 1 in Curitiba and thatwas very useful for me to understand why they were so quick in the wet in Brazil. I think we now havea lot of data for wet conditions. It was maybe not what we were looking for when we arrived toPembrey but it is something that will definitely be useful during the season, especially in Okayama! Now I am heading back to Switzerland but it won’t be a relaxing week-end. I will pick up my son atschool this afternoon and then we are off to Oschersleben where he will take part in the collective testof the ADAC Cruze Cup. Maxime is considering racing the ADAC Cruze Cup and he is going to havea first taste of the car this week-end. I am taking up my duties as a coach, so this is going to be aquite different, interesting and stressful week-end for me!”.
