Parente excited with Superleague 2010 debut

Alvaro Parente is already at Silverstone, circuit that will stage the 2010 Superleague Formula by Sonangol opener, and he is preparing the next weekend’s races with the technical team that will support the Futebol Clube do Porto’s car.

The Portuguese youngster is looking at this difficult competition, knowing that he as to prepare himself carefully and he is already at the historic British circuit to meet the team that will put on track this season the white and blue car. “Yesterday, I had the first contact with the team, something that allowed me to meet the mechanics and the engineers. Today, I’m doing the seat and preparing tomorrow’s test”, said Alvaro Parente.

With a long season ahead, the Portuguese driver is really excited to defend the Futebol Clube do Porto colour’s, though he knows that his opponents will give him a hard time. “I’m very motivated and eager to race again, after some showings in the GP2 Asia series. This car is completely different from the GP2’s and, with the actual line-up, I foresee an interesting and disputed championship. It will be good to meet again old opponents and ex-Formula 1 drivers”, underlined the young driver, who was in the GP2 Asia podium some weeks ago.

Silverstone is a well known circuit to Alvaro Parente, something that leaves him with more responsibilities to achieve a good result in the next weekend. The driver from Oporto, as all his rivals, will test tomorrow in the British circuit, and will work hard to adapt his single-seater – which is equipped with a 750hp V12 engine – to his driving style so he can fight for the top position during all event. “This is a track that I enjoy and where I raced many times. Tomorrow, we will to develop the car so that it can handle the way I like during the weekend”, said the Portuguese driver that completed: “The championship is very long, it has twelve events, and my goal is to be champion”.
