Team Rosberg enters two Audi R8 LMS cars in ADAC GT Masters
Team Rosberg, based in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, contests the ADAC GT Masters in the 2010 season again with two Audi R8 LMS cars. Former Formula 1 test driver Michael Ammermüller from Pocking close to Passau as well as GT expert Kenneth Heyer from Wegberg near Mönchengladbach are the first driver pairing to be confirmed. Full power into the second season: Team Rosberg, which finished sixth overall in 2009 in its debut season in Germany’s highest calibre sportscar series and which celebrated one victory and three more podium finishes, starts the new season with a very promising driver line-up. Twenty-four year old Michael Ammermüller brings a huge international experience into the team. He was a member of the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 test driver team for two years. The GP2 series, A1GP series, World Series by Renault and the International Formula Master also appear on the Bavarian’s motorsport career summary. The 30-year old Kenneth Heyer, son of racing legend Hans Heyer, also adds valuable knowledge to the team: The driver from North Rhine-Westphalia is active in motor racing since the 2000, since 2007 he regularly competes in various GT championships including the ADAC GT Masters. "We are delighted to welcome these two ambitious race drivers into the team,” explains Arno Zensen, Rosberg team boss. "The two completed more than 1,000 kilometres at a test on 24 and 25 March at Hockenheim. We are thoroughly convinced about their driving abilities and they have already gelled exceptionally well with the team. They have an excellent car in the form of our Audi R8 LMS which is of the latest specification. With this combination we expect to be in with a chance to fight for the championship this year.” Three strong partners – Interwetten, Ravenol Oil and Drexler Drivetrain – are also confirmed already for the Audi R8 LMS with start number 7. Team Rosberg will announce the driver pairing of a second Audi R8 LMS before the season starts on 10/11 April at Oschersleben. The series exclusively reserved for GT3 cars consists of 14 races on seven weekends this year. The private German TV channel ‘kabel eins’ broadcasts all 14 ADAC GT Masters races live between 11:45 and 13:15 hours on each relevant Saturday and Sunday.
