Round 1: Castle Combe, 27th MarchDespite a strong, chilling wind howling across Castle Combe, Stewart Robb Snr was on fire for the opening round of the SBD Motorsport British Sprint Championship. Nick Algar, whose Gould-NME seemed to be firing only on seven cylinders, took second place for the third successive time at Combe. Meanwhile Steve Broughton recovered from a hairy spin in qualifying to record a superb third place, with Tom Potter equally impressive aboard his now-turbocharged Jedi.Fifth place went to Steve Miles, previously a winner at Combe, while run-off debutante Terry Graves was a notable sixth.Results1 Stewart Robb Snr (4.0 Pilbeam-Judd MP88) - 113.03s 2 Nick Algar (3.5 Gould-NME GR55) - 115.01s3 Steve Broughton (1.3s OMS-Suzuki CF06) - 119.35s4 Tom Potter (1.0t Jedi-Yamaha Mk4) - 122.07s5 Steve Miles (2.0 Van Diemen-Zetec RF96M) - 128.11s6 Terry Graves (3.5 Gould-Cosworth DFR GR37) - 128.93s7 Jonathan Toulmin (1.5 FORCE-Suzuki PC) - 133.43s8 Andy Potter (1.0t Jedi-Yamaha Mk4) - 137.81s9 Tony Ellis (2.0 Megapin-Duratec 31-07) - 138.15sMark Smith (2.0 Reynard-Vauxhall 903G) FailGraham Porrett (3.5 Lola-Judd T90/50) FailTerry Holmes (3.5 Lola-Judd T90/50) Did Not StartRound 2: Croft, 5th AprilWith strong winds and a cold track, few records were equalled at Croft on Easter Monday.
