Coloni ready to tackle 2010 GP2 season

Scuderia Coloni successfully completed its preparation for the GP2 Main Series2010 season. The team took part in the collective tests held in Barcelona fromApril 7 to April 9, gathering important informations in view of the seriesmaiden race, which will be on the same Circuit de Catalunya on May 8.

Unlike what happened in the Le Castellet testing, where  very changeableweather soaked the track repeatedly, in Spain there was just a drizzle in theafternoon of the first day. This meant that the team had the chance to work inthe best possible way, trying lots of different set-up solutions for a dry trackand lapping in conditions that were presumably very close to what the cars willface in May.

As in Paul Ricard, the Coloni cars were among the most reliable in thefield, lapping a lot and with no glitches. Vladimir Arabadzhiev, being a rookie, showed his will to learn how to get the best from hisDallara-Renault car: he completed 130 laps, impressing the team with flawlessruns and an improving trend.

Paolo Coloni: “It was an important testing session for us because, besides thetechnical part, it allowed us to enhance the relation betweenthe team and the drivers.

From a technical point of view we worked on lots of different solutions, and we are particularly happy about the drivers’ and cars reliability: the guys didn’t do any mistake on track and we had no problems at all on the cars, this is undoubtedly the best way to prepare for the race.Looking at the laptimes, it seems very close, on the last days there were tencars in two tenths. Anyway, you never know how to judge laptimes in testing,we’ll see the real situations only in the first practice of the Barcelona raceweekend”.
