Penske Racing announces additional team sponsors

American racing team Penske Racing has made a number of announcements regarding the sponsorship of its Indycar, Nascar Sprint Cup Series and Nascar Nationwide Series race teams.

As part of a new deal with paper products manufacturer Kimberly-Clark, in 2011 Kimberly-Clark brand Wypall Wipers will become an associate sponsor of all Penske Racing's Nascar teams. Additionally Penske Racing president, Tim Cindric, will promote Wypal Wypers during Indycar race weekends. In total Kimberly-Clark's deal with Penske Racing is estimated to be worth US$2.5 million.

In the Nascar Sprint Cup Series, 2004 champion Kurt Busch was unveiled as part of the Coca-Cola Racing family of drivers for the 2011 campaign. Under terms of the agreement, the Coca-Cola logo will feature on the overalls of Busch while the brand will also be represented on the No. 22 Shell-Penzoil for the duration of the 2011 season. Additionally Busch will feature in Coca-Cola's in-store promotion and make promotional appearances on behalf of the brand. Financial details were not released.

"I am honoured to represent Coca-Cola during 2011 racing season. We're looking forward to a great season as we transition to the No. 22 car and it's awesome to have Coca-Cola on board for the ride,” Busch said.

In the Nascar Nationwide Series, Alliance Truck Parts will serve as an eight-race primary sponsor on Penske Racing's No. 12 Dodge Challenger, driven by former Indy 500 champion Sam Hornish. The deal is thought to be worth roughly US$1.75 million.

Also in the Nascar Nationwide Series, Pesnke Racing has announced that restaurant chain Ruby Tuesday will expand on last year's sponsorship by serving as a primary sponsor of the No. 22 Dodge Challenger driven by Brad Keselowski in five races in 2011. Additionally Ruby Tueday will act as co-primary sponsor of Keselowski's car in four races, beginning with the Scotts Turf Builder 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway. In total Ruby Tueday's sponsorship is estimated to be worth US$1.25 million.
