Nascar partner American Ethanol has been announced as an associate sponsor of Nascar Nationwide series team RAB Racing.
As part of the sponsorship deal, which was announced last week, RAB Racing driver Kenny Wallace will sport the American Ethanol logo on his Toyota Camry. The company’s logo will adorn the hood of Wallace’s Camry for the rest of the 2011 Nascar Nationwide season.
Wallace said of the deal: "Getting to know the hard working family farmers of this country has been a fantastic experience for me. I'm so excited to be a spokesperson for them, sharing true knowledge about what they do and the products and food that are made from their crops. I'm humbled that they've chosen me to be an advocate for them with dedicated racing fans.”
The sponsorship agreement began on 26th February at the Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 race held at the Phoenix International Raceway. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed but industry experts estimate the deal to be worth as much as US$750,000 over the course of the season.
Bart Schott, National Corn Growers Association president added: “We are thrilled to welcome Kenny Wallace as an official spokesman for American Ethanol on behalf of America’s green, clean alternative fuel component. Kenny is one of the most visible and popular drivers in Nationwide. He comes from Missouri and truly appreciates the important role of corn farmers in providing consumers with a domestic fuel choice.”
Tom Buis, chief executive of Growth Energy said: “His enthusiasm for ethanol is obvious so he is a great spokesperson to carry ethanol’s positive messages of creating American jobs, cleaner air, and strengthening our national security by making our nation more energy independent.”
The deal follows American Ethanol’s recent announcement of a partnership with Sprint Cup team Richard Childress Racing and driver Clint Bowyer. Last month automotive company Federated Auto Parts signed a deal with Wallace to support the driver for the second consecutive year in the Nationwide Series.
