BIRMINGHAM co-promoter Mick Bratley has described the signing of Polish World Cup star Krzysztof Kasprzak as a 'massive coup' for the Perry Barr club.Kasprzak put pen to paper on his 2011 contract in front of over 20,000 fans before the Birmingham City v West Bromwich Albion clash at St Andrew's on Saturday.Said Bratley: "To have a rider of Krzysztof's ability in our side is a massive coup for the club and we are delighted to welcome him to Birmingham Speedway."It's an exciting time for everyone at the club with the new season so close and the fact that we are looking ahead to the Elite League with some of the world's top stars."

TAI Woffinden has welcomed the return of Wolverhampton legend Peter Karlsson to Monmore Green this season.Karlsson captained Wolves to the Elite League title in 2009 before switching to Belle Vue on loan last year - but now he is back with his parent club to form a strong top-order with Woffinden and Fredrik Lindgren.Woffinden said: "It's great for us to have PK back, he was such an inspiration when we won the title and he's a great guy to have around."There's nobody better to work with the younger guys in the team and he will bring a lot of positives to the team, I'm really pleased to see him back with Wolverhampton."

LEE Complin has been named as skipper of Berwick's new-look line-up for the forthcoming Premier League season.The 26-year-old former Sheffield and Stoke man is going into his second year at Shielfield Park, and his appointment was confirmed at the club's pre-season dance which Complin attended along with three of the club's new signings - Hynek Stichauer, Tamas Sike and Kozza Smith.Promoter John Anderson said: "We needed to freshen things up a bit, and with the side we have assembled I think we have managed to do that."The emphasis this year will be on entertainment, and with the likes of Charlie (Gjedde), Kozza, Jade (Mudgway) and Lee in the team, I think we will certainly be entertained on a regular basis."

MILDENHALL have swooped to sign Australian teenage sensation Cameron Heeps.The 15-year-old was unveiled as the club's fifth signing for their new look National League side at a packed 'Support the Tigers' night at West Row on Saturday.Co-promoter Chris Louis said: "I believe we have signed the hottest Aussie prospect this year."I know a number of clubs were looking at Cameron, but when he heard that he'd be getting the chance to work with Michael Lee and joining a young vibrant team he had no hesitation in choosing Mildenhall."
