Round 2: Golden Springs (Woolbridge Motor Club), 6 March
Barrie Parker won the second round of the MSA British Car Trial Championship, the Golden Springs Car Trial near Dorchester.
Parker drove brilliantly to win the new car class by more than 60 points from Peter Houghton. Meanwhile the front-wheel-drive class featured a day-long battle between the Novas of Duncan Stephens and 1999 MSA British Autotest Champion John Moffatt, the latter coming out on top following two inspired climbs on the second round.
Colin Reid would have been battling with the Novas but for being first on the sections in the morning, which cost him seven points on one difficult start. Malcolm Brown and Tim Lakin won the remaining two classes to complete the top five overall.
