WOLVES skipper Peter Karlsson made a triumphant return to Monmore Green with a full maximum in his club's first home meeting of the season.41-year-old Karlsson, who was on loan at Belle Vue last year, went through the card as Wolves defeated Birmingham 57-36 to wrap up aggregate victory over their local rivals - and fellow Swede Freddie Lindgren was unbeaten in both legs.Karlsson said: "The welcome back from the fans has been amazing and I will be thinking about that for a long time."We still have a lot of things to work on as a team but this is a good start for us and we have to be pleased with the result."

POOLE promoter Matt Ford admits that the position of Polish rider Rafal Dobrucki is a concern along with several injury problems for his side.Skipper Davey Watt hopes to ride against Eastbourne on Wednesday and Renat Gafurov could join him in the team pending fitness tests - but Dobrucki is caught up in a row over silencers in his home country.Ford explained: "Along with Krzystof Cegielski, Rafal is one of the riders' spokesmen in Poland and with the current dispute over the new silencers he finds himself in a difficult situation."He wants to ride for Poole, he has assured me of that, but with the PZM threatening bans then he is in between a rock and a hard place."

IPSWICH youngster Jerran Hart has won a call-up to the World Under-21 quarter-finals after a strong start to the season.Great Britain have been allocated an extra place in the meeting at Herxheim in Germany on April 17, and Hart has been nominated by Young Lions bosses Phil Morris and Neil Vatcher.The 20-year-old top-scored for the Witches with 12 points at Rye House on Saturday, and also won two races on his home debut two nights earlier.Hart joins Josh Auty and Joe Haines in the qualifier, and another place in the competition will be up for grabs from the British Under-21 Final at Lakeside on April 15.
