The 2011 Auto One V8 Ute Racing Series - protected by Armor All will feature an expanded television package throughout the season, with at least one live race telecast from every series round.
Over 52 hours of total television time will be featured in Australia alone, giving the V8 Ute series its biggest TV audience by far in the category's 10 year history. Two live races will also be featured from the Clipsal 500, Sky City Triple Crowne in Darwin, the Sucrogen Townsville 400 and Bathurst 1,000. Live or "as live" races will be aired as part of the V8 Supercar Raceday Extra programme.
All races will also be featured in a one hour post produced program telecast after each round on the SEVEN Network, through TV3 New Zealand, Foxtel's new SPEED Channel, SPEED Channel 2 in America, and to over 40 countries and 80 Territories through Motors TV Europe.
"Over 12 hours will be featured on the SEVEN Network alone, plus our Bathurst race on the Sunday morning from Mt Panorama will be telecast LIVE into New Zealand and through Europe via Motors TV," explained Bill West from SPHERIX, the V8 Ute Category Manager. "From Ballarat to Belgium, Minneapolis to Malta, or Holland to Hamilton NZ - V8 Ute fans can get their fix almost anywhere in 2011, which is just fantastic for the growth of the series. With the live races and 1 hour programmes on SEVEN, plus up to 5 replays of each round on SPEED, over 52 hours of V8 Ute action will be broadcast in Australia. This, combined with a growing International TV audience, is a fantastic coup for the category."
The V8 Ute coverage will be produced by V8 Supercars Television with Aaron Noonan the lead commentator, and special guest comments by key V8 Supercar drivers. The next telecast will be aired on Saturday, 9th April on the Seven Network at 1pm and will re-cap all the action from Round 1 in Adelaide at the Clipsal 500.
