Bulldog Historic Rally, 2 April
Nick Elliott and Chris Brooks levelled the score with arch rivals Julian Reynolds and Ian Oakey on the second round of the Dunlop/Wonago MSA British Historic Rally Championship, the Bulldog Rally in Wales.
The battle of the Ford Escort Mk2s resumed and, having been pipped by a second on the opening event, Elliott took control in the Dyfi and Aberhirnant complexes to win by 21 seconds.
In category one Simon Wallis rolled his Lotus Cortina out, and it was a surprised Ian Beveridge and Peter Joy who took the spoils in their Volvo PV544. Meanwhile David Stokes and Guy Weaver completed an early season double in win in their Escort Mk1.
