Team ES Racing head in to the second weekend of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship looking to build on a positive start to the season.
The Luton-based team made their BTCC debut at Brands Hatch two weeks ago and are currently placed 7th in the HiQ Independents team championship following three solid finishes.
Team principal/driver Chris James talked about the weekend ahead and the possible addition of a new team member: “We’re looking forward to building on a positive start at Brands Hatch. Again the main goal remains to keep the car straight, finish all 3 races, and not be last. Three finishes saw us up to 7th in the Independents championship after Brands, so three more finishes will hopefully push us further up again. This weekend we are hoping to have a dedicated chassis engineer with us, something we have never had to date. If this happens we are positive that this will bring the lap times down.”
The team return to the Donington Park with valuable data after shaking down the car last month at the Leicestershire track.
Team Manager Rhea Beauchamp is looking for the team to continue the positive performance from the opening rounds: “After Chris having a successful weekend at Brands Hatch, myself and the team are thrilled with his results and look forward to Rounds 4, 5 & 6 at Donington Park. The team have been working hard with the car this week and anticipate another first class result. I would like to say from myself & the team a thank you to all of those that are supporting Chris with his debut season. We hope to put on a great show for you all.”
Full coverage of qualifying can be seen on ITV.com on Saturday 16 April. The three races will be shown live throughout Sunday along with coverage of the TOCA support package on ITV4 and ITVHD.
