MSA British Sporting Trials Championship

Round 8: Jacobean (London Car Club), 17 April

Ian Veale won the Jacobean trial to become the fifth different winner from the eight events run so far this year.

Veale won by a single point from Ian Bell, who had led at lunchtime, while Dave Rance finished third overall another mark adrift. Josh Veale, son of event winner Ian, enjoyed a superb day in his Sherpa to win the novice class and finish an outstanding eighth overall in a high-class field of almost 40. Jerome Fack won the Intermediate class in 11th overall.

The Jacobean was the last event before the summer break; the championship will resume with the Robin Jager trial on 11 September.
