Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Championship team MP Motorsport kicked-off the 2011 season with a mixed set of results at Motorland Aragon in Spain over the weekend, 17th/18th April - the first outing for the Dutch squad's newly confirmed three-driver line-up.Estonian Karl-Oscar Liiv has returned to the team, after signing an 11th hour deal during the build-up to the first two races of the season, and he aims to build on his race winning performances of last year in the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup - a category he will also contest in 2011.At Motorland over the weekend, Liiv qualified a highly creditable 13th out of 34 drivers in total but he wasn't able to mount an expected challenge for the top 10 points paying positions when a multi-car tangle on lap one forced him into retirement. Although not able to score points in race two either, the 17-year-old from Tallinn did drive strongly from 25th on the grid into a finish of 14th position. Compatriot Johannes Moor, who was born in Tartu, Estonia and now resides in Tallinn, has joined MP Motorsport for his maiden campaign in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. Over the weekend he unfortunately retired from his first two races in the championship but his pace suggests he could be a future threat. The 18-year-old secured three wins in Finnish Formula Renault 2.0 last year on his way to concluding the year as Vice-Champion. Prior to graduating to cars in 2008, Moor raced karts throughout the Baltic states and Europe. Swede Kevin Kleveros, from Uddevalla, opened his 2011 account at Motorland with a superb 10th place finish in race one - a fantastic drive from 25th on the grid sealing a deserved point. In race two though the 19-year-old was forced out on lap eight but his credentials speak for themselves.Graduating to cars three years ago off the back of a strong karting career, during which time he became Swedish KF2 Karting Champion in 2007, Kleveros competed in Eurocup a couple of years ago before switching to the Swedish national series in 2010 where he ended the campaign as Vice-Champion. He was also Vice-Champion in the Formula Renault 2.0 North European Zone series.Speaking on his team's Eurocup signings, MP Motorsport's Sander Dorsman said: "We're really happy to have Kevin, Johannes and Karl-Oscar on board for 2011. They're all talented and exciting prospects so we're aiming to make a big impact as the season goes on. "Already at Motorland Aragon this weekend we have seen Eurocup is as tough as ever this year but we're confident our drivers will develop strongly during the season. It's a shame there were some incidents which got in the way but we're very pleased Kevin scored his first point of the year."Last year MP Motorsport finished fifth in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 entrant standings thanks to the efforts of Liiv and Dutchman Daniël De Jong. The latter is racing in Formula Renault 3.5 this year but it has been confirmed he will also make several outings for MP Motorsport in Auto GP. The team is evaluating a full-time entry into the category for 2012.Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup...In addition to its programme in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, MP Motorsport is also contesting the 2011 Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup. Getting underway a couple of weekends ago, the team fielded cars for Russian driver Alexey Chuklin and Eurocup driver Moor at Hockenheim. From the three races, Chuklin enjoyed a best result of 12th position in the first encounter while Moor delivered a strong top 10 qualifying run but fell victim to unfortunate contact in the races. His best finish came in round two with 13th place. MP Motorsport's next track action will come less than two weeks from now over the weekend 30th April/ 1st May at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Liiv, Moor and Kleveros will compete in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 races while Liiv will also double-up in the accompanying NEC races alongside new team-mate Chuklin.
