MSA British Drag Racing Championship

Round 1: Santa Pod Raceway, April 22-25

Roger Moore holds the early championship lead after taking his maiden Pro Modified victory in round one at Santa Pod Raceway.

Moore was consistently the class of the field, setting new career-best elapsed times and terminal speeds en route to the trophy. The stakes will rise for Moore at the end of May when round two combines with the FIA European Championship’s opening meeting to attract the leading Continental Pro Mod teams to Santa Pod.

Reigning champion Andy Robinson qualified on pole at 6.157s / 229.05mph, but main bearing damage necessitated an engine replacement. He was then further hampered by leaking oil from a faulty connection at the start in Monday’s first round of eliminations.
