Jamie Caroline leads the standings following the first round at Rowrah, where he and Daniel Ticktum shared the wins.
Double heat winner Caroline led the first final until falling foul of the wet conditions and spinning, which allowed Ticktum and Lando Norris through. Norris led into the 16th and final lap but Ticktum dived through the narrowest of gaps two corners from the finish to claim victory.
The sun returned for the second final, which Caroline started from pole. He dropped to seventh after his nosecone became hooked on Dan Zelo’s rear bumper, but fought back to regain the lead with six laps remaining before taking the chequered flag and the championship lead.
